Welcome to season 2 episode 9 of Matter of Fat: a body positive podcast with Midwest sensibilities! Co-hosts Cat Polivoda and Saraya Boghani highlight community voices with a focus on body size, body positivity, & fat liberation.
The gals highlight the Radical Health Alliance’s Rad Fat Adventure Camp and book club part 2 of Fearing the Black Body: the Racial Origins of Fatphobia at Real Life Coffee and Yoga this September. They also share excitement over Lindy West and Sam Irby’s visit and their decision to attend the WNYC Studios Werk It Conference in October. Personally, Saraya repurposes the term “basicity”, loves people taking on challenges, and looks forward to attending the Pink Sweat$ concert coming up real quick. Cat worked through some allergies, chick lit audiobooks, and joined the board of the NLC. Don’t wait on those applications, y’all! They’re due in October. Also, Cat will be on the “Retail Revealed: Success Secrets from Hometown Brands” panel on September 22nd. Also, TPT is doing an MN Original on Cat! They came to record at the KFAI Studios and show off how our girl gets it done!
